Responsible for core technology teams including: Information Security, Client Engineering Enterprise Messaging, Terminal Services, Engineering Operations, System Engineering, Storage, Microsoft SQL, telephony and networks, and Disaster Recovery.

·         Redesigned the IT support model for the enterprise.  Efficiency and productivity gains from this new support model, allowed the elimination of 65% of IT staffing increased customer satisfaction (30%) and decreased incident and service request turnaround time (80%).

·         Redesigned the IT support model for the enterprise.  Efficiency and productivity gains from this new support model, allowed the elimination of 15% of IT staffing reallocated to project based work while substantially increasing customer satisfaction (30%) and decreasing incident and service request turnaround time (70%).

·         New support model targets include first call resolution to hit 80% this year with a further reduction in operational staff by 20%.  This model was foundational for the re-organization recently completed by Mercy Information Systems Division.

·         Reduced annual expenses by over $10 million and reduced capital expenditures by $12 million while maintaining service level objectives and capital objectives.

·         Delivery of information security policies that meet regulatory and industry requirements while recognizing their impact on the end users.

·         Championed an Automated Identity and Access Management System linked to our ERP system for the automated provisioning and de-provisioning of user accounts to dozens of clinical, financial, and infrastructure systems reducing turn-around times from over 2 weeks to less than 18 hours.

·         Directed the deployment of the first enterprise wide solutions for key security tools including Anti-virus, Intrusion Detection, Intrusion Prevention, Enterprise Firewall Clustering, Security Event Correlation, and Encrypted B to B communications. Tightened security was directly responsible for improved Cerner availability.

·         Hiring, training and development of key security personnel into an enterprise wide asset and achieving the best retention in the IT organization.

Information System Analyst

Primary responsibility in this position was to secure and protect the client server systems of Premcor. 

·Responsible for UNIX (SUN/SOLARIS, HPUX, and AIX) and related corporate networks.  Required to manage over 150+ UNIX servers spread out throughout the world with a limited staff.  By the publishing of Corporate Security Standards together with implementing several key products, Information Security was able to effectively centralize security administration, policy compliance monitoring, auditing, and intrusion detection. 

·Participant on the Disaster Recovery teams to ensure availability in the event of a catastrophic event. The team looked at both redundancy and contingency plans for the core data center and offsite planning. 

·Consultative role with all departments across the company to insure that the appropriate security is incorporated into new systems developed for the company.  As core systems were developed, I was responsible for ensuring that adequate security was designed within the systems and that significant vulnerabilities were mitigated or resolved.
